A student and a PhD student Karol Sadowski with an honorable mention in the 3rd edition of the “Young Polish Promoter” Competition

The competition is held under the patronage of the Spouse of the President of the Republic of Poland, it honors young Poles whose activities contribute to strengthening the positive image of our country. Karol Sadowski of MUW received an honorable mention in the “scientific activity” category. He was recognized, among other things, for his participation in the prestigious “School of Eagles” mentoring program, aimed at the top 15 medical students at MUW, as well as for numerous grants supporting the development of his research.

Karol Sadowski, along with the other winners of the competition, received his diploma and congratulations at the final gala. They were presented by: First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda, Minister Piotr Ćwik, deputy head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, and Krzysztof Przybył, President of the Polish Promotional Emblem Foundation “Teraz Polska”.

- You have a real impact on building Poland's image around the world, as well as on the future fate, both of our country and the world - the First Lady said at the gala. And she added: - I wish that you never lose the motivation to continue your work. That you always remain great ambassadors of Poland, no matter where your career paths take you.

Karol Sadowski with an honorable mention in the scientific activity category

The winners were selected from among nine nominees (three in each category). In the category of scientific activities, the winner was Dagmara Słota, in the category of sports activities - Alex Borucki, and in the category of cultural activities - Jakub Kuszlik. Honorable mentions were also awarded in each category. One of them was awarded to Karol Sadowski, a fifth-year medical student at MUW and a doctoral student at the MUW Doctoral School.

Karol Sadowski's research interests focus on physiology and coronary vascular imaging. He has presented his scientific work at international conferences in Boston, Washington DC and Tokyo. He is a recipient of many grant programs, including a two-time recipient of the “Best of the Best 4.0” program, as well as a recipient of the “Talents of Tomorrow”, “Talents of Tomorrow 2”, “Student Mini-Grant”, “ACVI PCS Travel Grant” and “Supporting students to improve their competencies and skills” projects. He has also repeatedly received the Rector's Scholarship for the best students. He has gained international experience at renowned research centers such as the University of Heidelberg in Germany, Amsterdam UMC and Erasmus MC in the Netherlands. In addition to his scientific activities, he is actively involved in academic life - he serves on the Executive Board of the MUW Doctoral Student Government and is active in numerous scientific associations.
