“I believe there are many exciting challenges and opportunities ahead.” Graduation Ceremony of pharmacy graduates

These words were spoken by Aleksandra Zawadka-Grześkiewicz, this year's pharmacy graduate, to her colleagues present at the graduation ceremony. During the ceremony, which took place on May 18, 119 people received their diplomas of graduation. The graduates were accompanied at this important moment by the university authorities, faculty authorities and loved ones.

- This is a great success in your lives and the completion of a certain stage of your education - said Piotr Luliński, MD, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, host of the event.

The dean assured the graduates that no matter what career direction they choose, the knowledge and skills and competencies they acquired during their studies will allow them to perform their duties in accordance with best practice.

Always follow your heart

First, the graduates were congratulated by Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, Rector of MUW. He also gave them a very important tip. Which one?

- You have graduated from a very good university, which has excellently prepared you for future work, and you can choose different directions. On such occasions, I always give the advice that in this choice you should be guided by yourself - your own interests and passions, and not succumb to fashion, environmental pressure or even finances - the Rector stressed.

Take advantage of the opportunities and continuously educate yourself

- The title you receive today gives you a very wide range of career opportunities - argued Agnieszka Bazylko, MD, PhD, Vice Dean for pharmacy education at the Faculty of Pharmacy.

As the vice dean emphasized, a pharmacist is an independent medical profession, which, thanks to the 2020 law, has been given a number of diverse powers. As a result, pharmacists have a special responsibility - for human health and life.

- For this reason, this profession requires continuing education - the vice dean stressed.

- The work of a pharmacist has changed a lot - said in turn Jerzy Żabiński, DPharm, deputy chairman of the District Pharmacy Council of the District Pharmacy Chamber in Warsaw and a member of the Supreme Pharmacy Council - Take advantage of the broad opportunities, because it will depend on you what pharmacy will look like in 20 years.

The same message could be heard from the words of alumni representative Aleksandra Zawadka-Grześkiewicz:

- Our studies have given us a solid foundation, but now the real professional challenges await us. Keep in mind that pharmacy is a field that is constantly evolving, and we need to keep up with it, so don't rest on your laurels.

Live life to the fullest

Words of appreciation for the graduates came from Adam Paderewski, vice-chairman of the Student Government Board of the Faculty of Pharmacy, who stressed how much of an inspiration to younger colleagues, including himself, is today's success of the graduates. Because it proves that the effort put into studying allows you to overcome any difficulties.

Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever,” he told the graduates:

- Although you have already graduated, I wish you to be ready to learn more and live life to the fullest.

The pledge and presentation of awards and diplomas

It states, among other things, to perform their duties in accordance with the law and to the best of their knowledge, to uphold the dignity of the profession, to be guided by the principles of honesty and conscientiousness.
