The diploma awarding ceremony was held on November 16. Diplomas were received by 33 graduates who completed their education in the 2023/2024 academic year. The ceremony was hosted by Piotr Luliński, PharmD, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
- You will soon begin your professional work, work in the broad field of health care, in which most of you will serve another human being - the patient. I believe that the profound knowledge as well as skills and competencies acquired during your studies will allow you to perform your profession and the tasks entrusted to you conscientiously and in accordance with best practice. I know that you are very well prepared to take on the challenges awaiting you in your professional work, because your education was attended by our best lecturers - emphasized Piotr Luliński, PharmD, PhD.
A message from the Rector
Congratulations and words of good fortune were conveyed to the graduates by Rector Professor Rafal Krenke. He also stressed that obtaining a diploma does not mean the end of education, but only the closing of one of its stages. The fast-changing reality, including the development of new technologies, means that medical professions require constant deepening of knowledge. At the same time, he wished the graduates not to lose their curiosity about the world as well as their fresh insight, and to enter the profession with them, because only then further study and self-education will not be a compulsion, but a pleasure.
Finally, the Rector referred to the canon of academic values that every graduate should possess.
- I think that professional preparation is one thing, and the other thing you should take from the educational process is the ability to cooperate, openness to others and such universal, human and academic values as respect and tolerance for others. I hope that with such values you will go out into the world and in your further career path you will be able to separate what is good, righteous and noble from what is sometimes disrespectful and indecent. I wish you to carry these good values with you, to promote them among your colleagues, and to stigmatize and encounter as little as possible the bad ones on your way.
A message from the Vice Dean for Medical Analytics
At the outset, Prof. Olga Ciepiela was moved to thank the graduates for being able to watch their development from the “front row,” from the second year to graduation. She stressed that the study of medical analytics is unique, while laboratory diagnostician is a profession of public trust.
- We, as laboratory diagnosticians, practice a profession on which patients' lives depend. I can say today with full responsibility that you and we, laboratory diagnosticians, medical diagnosticians, are one of the key links in medicine. Despite the fact that most often we are not seen by patients, have the courage to loudly show how important our role is - said Prof. Olga Ciepiela.
Just like the Rector, she indicated that graduates will be obliged to continue their education. And this is because laboratory medicine is constantly evolving, new health risks are emerging, and thus new diagnostic and treatment methods are being developed.
- And our role - the role of medical analytics graduates is not only keeping up with these changes, not only constantly supplementing the knowledge, but also actively participating in this progress. I am sure that you have the knowledge and skills to create the future of this branch of medicine, not only in Poland, but also in the world - the Vice Dean stressed.
Finally, she expressed the hope that the graduates will remember their time at the university well, and will always be proud to say that they graduated from medical analytics at our university.
The Vow
The graduates swore, among other things, to “serve human life and health according to the best of their knowledge, prevent suffering, prevent disease and participate in the treatment process.” They then received their coveted diplomas from the hands of the Dean Piotr Luliński, PharmD, PhD, and the Rector Prof. Rafal Krenke.
