The funds, including those supplied by the MUW, will help the WOŚP Foundation buy equipment for departments of: oncological surgery, neurosurgery, oncological diagnostics, pathomorphology, and hospices.
MUW Community for WOŚP
Items offered by MUW students and employees for auction included: sports training sessions, gadget sets, medical courses and workshops –two of which were to be run at the modern Medical Simulation Center; a spring-time lunch and a sightseeing tour of the Banacha Campus with the University’s Rector, Professor Rafał Krenke, as well as excellent visual art created by the patients of the Department of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Transplantology at the UCC MUW. The auctions were held until mid-January, and have yielded PLN 27,157.
Those willing to contribute to the fundraiser in the traditional way could do so by coming to the swimming pool at the MUW Sports and Rehabilitation Center (SRC), as well as by attending two outstanding events: a basketball and volleyball tournament, as well as a full-day event open to everyone, which included multiple attractions for children, lectures, preventive health check-ups, and sporting challenges. PLN 33,339.94 were raised using the traditional charity collection boxes, while the MUW online fundraiser attracted an additional PLN 5879.
We raised a total of PLN 66,375.94!
Organizers of the “MUW Community for WOŚP” campaign
The volunteering team and the “MUW Community for WOŚP” campaign were organized by students from organizations such as IFMSA-Poland Oddział Warszawa, the MUW Student Government, student governments from various faculties, Polish Association of Dentistry Students Warsaw Division, in cooperation with the MUW Communication and Promotion Office, MUW Sports and Rehabilitation Center, MUW Academic Sports Association, and the Warsaw Academic Sports Association.
