The invited guests were welcomed by the President of the Polish Pharmaceutical Society, Bożena Karolewicz, MD, PhD, Professor of the University. The participants listened to the speeches of: Aleksander Kuźmicz, Chairman of the Agreement of the United Self-Governments of the Faculties of Pharmacy - "The report on the analysis of students' opinions on the pharmacy education program," Prof. Wojciech Miltyk, Chairman of the Deans' Convention - "The assumptions of the developed changes in the standard of education preparing to practice the profession of pharmacist conducted at the pharmacy field of study," and Prof. Agnieszka Zimmermann, Vice Rector for Quality of Teaching at the Medical University of Gdańsk - "The quality of education in medical professions."
The Agreement of the United Self-Governments of Pharmaceutical Faculties was established at the initiative of the Student Self-Government of the Faculty of Pharmacy MUW, whose current chairman is a student. It should be emphasized that this is the first initiative uniting pharmacy students of all pharmaceutical faculties of medical universities in Poland, and the meeting at the headquarters of the Polish Pharmaceutical Society was the first meeting of deans and representatives of the academic community of pharmaceutical faculties with representatives of the Agreement, representing pharmacy students from all over Poland.
The meeting discussed changes in the education of future pharmacists, including the teaching of practical content, education in the area of pharmaceutical care or clinical pharmacy, and the introduction of modern solutions for optional classes and verification of learning outcomes. Joint meetings are to be held periodically.
