The Presidents' Award is presented by the Managing Directors' Competition Jury of the Polish Society of Cardiology, chaired by Prof. Janina Stępińska. This highly prestigious award is open to scientists, members of the PSC, who are under 45 years of age on the last day of acceptance of applications. They are judged on their original scientific achievements or innovative implementation solutions in the field of clinical or experimental cardiology. Prof. Kapłon-Cieślicka received this award for her series of papers “Heart failure - diagnosis, prognostic factors and prognosis in different subgroups of patients.”
In addition, our scientist was awarded the PSC Award for Scientific Publication in the Year 2023, recognizing her paper published in the prestigious European Journal of Heart Failure titled “Hyponatraemia and changes in natraemia during hospitalization for acute heart failure and associations with in-hospital and long-term outcomes - from the ESC-HFA EORP Heart Failure Long-Term Registry.” Its authors, in addition to Prof. Kapłon-Cieślicka, are: Benson L, Chioncel O, Crespo-Leiro MG, Coats AJS, Anker SD, Ruschitzka F, Hage C, Drożdż J, Seferovic P, Rosano GMC, Piepoli M, Mebazaa A, McDonagh T, Lainscak M, Savarese G, Ferrari R, Mullens W, Bayes-Genis A, Maggioni AP, Lund LH).
The award ceremony took place during the inauguration of the XXVIII International Congress of the Polish Society of Cardiology, held September 19-21 in Katowice, Poland.
