Our ophthalmology hospital is opened after modernization!

After three years of intensive renovation work, the Independent Public Clinical Ophthalmology Hospital MUW has returned to its historic site on Sierakowskiego Street. Today, it offers patients completely new treatment standards and many unique procedures. The renovated facility features modern rooms and a well-equipped operating theater.

Higher standards of treatment

- The modernization of the facility was necessary to meet the growing needs of patients and the dynamic development of ophthalmology - says Prof. Jacek P. Szaflik, director of the hospital. - Thanks to the new developments, our hospital is able to provide an even higher standard of care and modern methods of treating many complex cases of eye diseases. The building, after the expansion, has increased its area by 25 percent, which directly translates into patient comfort throughout the treatment process.

New equipment and more space

The ophthalmology hospital on Sierakowskiego Street is now synonymous with modern medicine. Three modern operating rooms, advanced diagnostic equipment and a team of qualified specialists will allow the hospital to provide comprehensive services in ophthalmology. In addition to traditional procedures, the hospital also offers innovative treatment methods, for example, the so-called MIMS, an anti-glaucoma procedures of a new type, performed without breaking the continuity of the conjunctiva. Patients thus have access to the most effective therapies available on the market.

Teaching facilities

The hospital is also an important teaching facility of the Medical University of Warsaw. The Chair and Department of Ophthalmology educate nearly 380 medical students annually. At SPKSO, doctors in the course of specialization can take advantage of a simulation center that is unique in the country, where advanced training in diagnosis and surgery develops their skills. Superbly equipped operating rooms are also perfect facilities for training students and young doctors.

The main interests of the Chair and Department of Ophthalmology of the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Warsaw, are issues related to the diagnosis and treatment of corneal disorders and glaucoma.

Drug programs and quality certificate
