On June 26, at a ceremonial gala held at the National Institute of Culture, the Rector of our university, Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, received a diploma confirming the 10th place of MUW in the Ranking of Academic Universities 2024. The diploma was presented by Prof. Michal Kleiber, former president of the Polish Academy of Sciences, chairman of the ranking Jury, while congratulations were offered by: Dr. Krzysztof Gawkowski, deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers, minister of digitization, Maciej Gdula, MD, PhD, undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and Dr. Bianka Siwińska, president of the Perspektywy Educational Foundation and Perspektywy Women in Tech.
The best medical university in Poland
Based on the Academic Universities Ranking 2024, rankings were created by the type of university. In the ranking of medical universities, the Medical University of Warsaw, with a ranking index of 73.0, took the leading position. This means that we repeated our success from last year. In 2nd place ex aequo were three universities: from Białystok, Gdańsk and Łódź.
WUM fields of study on the podium
As in previous years, eight fields of study from our educational offerings have been ranked high in the Study Course Rankings 2024. These are:
- medical analytics – 2nd place (out of 11 universities)
- dietetics – 3rd place (out of 19 universities)
- pharmacy –2nd place (out of 11 universities)
- medical field of study – 2nd place (out of 15 universities)
- midwifery – 2nd place (out of 15 universities)
- nursing – 3rd place (out of 26 universities, ex aequo with the Medical University of Lublin)
- emergency medicine – 2nd place (out of 21 universities)
- public health – 2nd place (out of 12 universities)
The ranking of fields of study is a structured information about the most popular fields of study taught at Polish academic institutions. In the Perspektywy 2024 Ranking, 74 groups of fields of study were evaluated in 9 fields covering the humanities, social sciences, economics, science, natural sciences, technical, medical and health sciences, as well as agricultural, forestry and veterinary sciences.
About the ranking
The Perspektywy Ranking of Higher Education Institutions is designed to help high school graduates choose the best field of study and university. This is the 25th edition of the list, which has been prepared by the Perspektywy Educational Foundation since 2000.
The Perspektywy 2024 Ranking of Higher Education Institutions consists of four rankings: academic universities, non-public universities, public academies of applied sciences and public vocational universities, and fields of study. The ranking takes into account 31 indicators grouped into seven criteria: prestige, graduates on the labor market, scientific potential, innovation, scientific efficiency, educational conditions, internationalization. It is worth mentioning that MUW ranked in the top 10 in the following groups of criteria: Graduates on the Labor Market (4th place), Scientific Effectiveness (8th place), Publications (9th place).
