Adrian Nowakowski is a graduate of the undergraduate studies in nursing at MUW. He works as a nurse practitioner in the Department of Neurology at the Central Clinical Hospital UCC MUW and at the same time is studying computer science and doing a specialization in nursing. He won the competition with his idea of “Stefania,” which involves giving phantoms located in nursing labs the function of speech and creating a platform based on artificial intelligence to conduct virtual conversations with patients. “Stefania” will make it possible to learn how to communicate effectively, especially with patients suffering from dementia.
The scholarship recipients of the last edition, in addition to Adrian Nowakowski, were: Crystal Rivera (USA), Jurgita Stankuniene (Lithuania), Paola Gava (Germany), Hanna Jokinen (Finland), Floro Cubelo (Finland), Josefine Caesar (Sweden), Stefan Krantz (Sweden).
The Queen Silvia Nursing Award competition has an international character. The event is supported by Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden. The purpose of the competition is to encourage nurses and nursing students in Poland to seek innovative ideas that can help solve our society's most pressing health problems. Both practicing nurses as well as nursing students can enter the competition.
