Debate “On the way to the future”
Global warming and environmental degradation, threats to public health as well as the social aspects of the development of new technologies, especially artificial intelligence and biotechnology - these are the challenges facing humanity. During one of the debates, prepared by the Copernicus Science Center, panelists discussed what competencies young people should be equipped with to be ready for what the future will bring. Prof. Marcin Sobaczak, Vice Rector for Science and Technology Transfer MUW, took part in the discussion.
- We live in a time of high technology, and in a short while these technologies will be even more advanced, and what we should teach and encourage young people to do is to be able to understand this hi-tech world - Professor Sobaczak said.
The Vice Rector referred in particular to the issue of artificial intelligence: - I believe that natural intelligence will always win over the artificial one, but the latter is something we should all learn. In the future, people who will not use artificial intelligence, regardless of their profession, will be replaced by those who will know artificial intelligence.
The discussion also referred to the “Development Strategy of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship 2030+ Mazovia as an Innovative Region,” referring to the principles of sustainable development. So that the next generations have access to them to the same extent as the current ones, and whose basis is a strong, integrated civil society actively participating in the development of the voivodeship.
The organizer of the Forum was the Mazovian Unit for Implementation of EU Projects.
