10th Mini-symposium of Young Scientists at the Faculty of Pharmacy is back from its hiatus

Not held for a few years due to the pandemic, the event is back this year. Once again, young scientists – undergraduate and PhD students of the Faculty of Pharmacy – can meet and share their research results. And authors of the best speeches and papers receive awards.

The 10th Mini-symposium was an opportunity for students and young scientists to share their ideas, research, and methodologies. Such sharing may offer new inspirations and an opportunity to look at one’s own projects with a fresh eye.

“I believe that this is an excellent networking opportunity. Research cooperation often begins with these kinds of informal conversations at such events. The mini-symposium also serves as an opportunity for young scientists to get noticed by mentors and professors, which could then open the doors to further career development,” says Paweł Siudem, PhD, who organized the event.

Awarded scientists

  • Katarzyna Strzelecka in the PhD student poster session, for her poster titled “Inclusion complexes of α-cyclodextrin with carmustine: a new approach to treating glioblastoma”
  • Wiktor Gregorowicz in the undergraduate student poster session, for his poster titled “Synthesizing and testing the physicochemical properties of new silicon phosphates as potential drug delivery systems”
  • Szymon Araj in the student speech session, for his presentation titled “Methodology and significance of modern structural and physicochemical tests and molecular modeling, on the example of Noopept, a compound with nootropic activity”
  • Mateusz Jędrzejewski in the young scientist speech session, for his presentation titled “Applying in silico methods in the analysis of the mechanism of catalytic activity of CamA bacterial methyltranspherase”

The awards were presented by Professor Piotr Luliński, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The event was organized by the Free Radicals Student Research Club, in cooperation with the MUW Student Scientific Society.
