Students and employees of our University are involved in nationwide campaigns aimed at collecting funds and gifts for those in need.
One of such nationwide campaigns is the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The WUM community for this even organizes charity auctions of items donated by employees, students and doctoral students of our University. The event is run by the Student Council of the Medical University of Warsaw, Faculty Councils and other student organizations. In addition to the auction the students organize fairs, collections, concerts and collect money in special donation boxes. They also set up stands where they conduct basic preventive examinations, teach the principles of first aid and provide health advice. The aim of the action is to support the ”Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity” in raising money for the purchase of the most modern devices to save the life and health of children in need of specialist medical treatment, as well as support for the elderly.
Students and employees of the Medical University of Warsaw also take part in the WUM “Noble Package” aimed at supporting families and people who have found themselves in a difficult financial situation. The purchase of Christmas gifts for "Our Children" is the fulfillment of the childrens' dreams regarding Christmas gifts and supporting the facility in the purchase of basic products.
The collections for charity are also the purpose of concerts by the ECHO Group. This group brings together students of the Medical University of Warsaw who share a passion for music and a selfless willingness to help those in need.
