The meeting was also attended by Prof. Maciej Słodkowski, Head of the Department of General and Gastroenterological Surgery and Surgical Oncology and Dr. Tomasz Guzel, Chair of the Clinic of General and Gastroenterological Surgery and Surgical Oncology, who cooperates with Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, as well as, Ms Lidia Przepióra-Dziewulska, MA, Head of the International Relations Office.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of signing a bilateral agreement between Medical University of Warsaw and Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. The agreement would focus on the exchange of students and teaching assistants between departments of surgery and surgical clinics with a perspective to expand beyond surgery.
Deputy Rector, Prof. Lidia Rudnicka emphasized the importance Medical University of Warsaw places on international cooperation and suggested working together on joint scientific and research projects that would be the foundation of academic exchange between the two universities. Prof. Słodkowski added that he would like to explore the possibility of publishing together. In response, Prof. Koto expressed his appreciation and interest in pursuing such initiatives with Medical University of Warsaw.
During his visit, Prof. Koto was also taken on a tour of Medical University of Warsaw ’s two campuses: Banacha and Lindley.
