She presented her research on the mechanism of incorporation of selenium into the structure of exopolysaccharides of fungal origin, obtained from cultivation of the deep mycelium of the Japanese medicinal fungus Lentinula edodes (shiitake fungus) in a paper entitled: “The Immunomodulative effect of rich Selenium mushroom polysaccharides isolated from submerged cultivated mycelium” for which she received the IIER Excellent Paper Award.
