The CWUR assessed 2000 institutions of higher education from around the world, including 35 from Poland. MUW received a grade of 70,8 and jumped to 911th position and placed 863rd in the research category. In CWUR rankings by country, MUW placed 7th among Polish universities.
The usual U.S. institutions of higher education were ranked first: Harvard, MIT and Stanford University. In the overall world ranking, the best Polish universities included Jagiellonian University (375th place), University of Warsaw (396th place) and AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków (624th place).
