Harvard University became the best academic institution around the globe, Stanford University took second and Cambridge University the third place. The best polish universities are: The University of Warsaw (place 301-400) and the Jagiellonian University (place 401-500). Our University is placed between 901 and 1000 on the list.
ARWU is perceived as the most reliable ranking as it is based on transparent methodology and objective data. To rank universities ARWU uses six objective indicators: the number of alumni and staff with Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, number of highly cited researchers selected by Clarivate Analytics, number of articles published in journals of Nature and Science, number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index - Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index, and per capita performance of a university.
The published list consists of 1000 universities, but more than 1800 universities are actually ranked.
