This popular science, colorful animation was created as part of the project "Discover the secrets of the human body in the anatomical theater of the twenty-first century," which was financed from the program "Social responsibility of science" of the Minister of Science and Higher Education. The film will soon be screened for guests of our university museum in a room, currently under construction in the Library and Information Center, which will be devoted to the history of normal anatomy, pathological anatomy and forensic medicine.
The aim of the creators of the film was to provide knowledge about the history of anatomy, from ancient times to the present day, in an attractive and accessible way. The main characters of the animation are such important figures in the development of medical science as Hippocrates, Galen and Vesalius. In the production, we also learn how the anatomy of the human body inspired great artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Rembrandt, and where in Europe the oldest and most beautiful anatomical theaters can be seen. The production also features a contemporary theme about our university. We are talking about the Ludwik Paszkiewicz Room located in Collegium Anatomicum, the architecture of which refers to historical interiors of anatomical profile.
The animation is a prelude to a series of short educational productions presenting the history of medicine and pharmacy in various contexts.
