University Clinical Centre of the Medical University of Warsaw - the best Polish hospital according to the World's Best Hospitals 2021 ranking

The list compiled by Newsweek and Statista Inc. included 2,000 medical institutions from 25 countries selected primarily on the basis of standard of living/life expectancy, population size, number of hospitals and data availability.

Among all the ranked hospitals, UCC MUW was ranked between 100 and 200: https://www.newsweek.com/best-hospitals-2021

Amid national medical facilities, Warsaw UCC was ahead of, among others, the University Clinical Centre in Gdansk, the Ludwik Rydygier Specialist Hospital in Krakow Ltd. and the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration in Warsaw.

"We provide services at the highest level and employ the best doctors and medical staff. The first place in the ranking is a result of the work and dedication of all employees," comments the success the UCC MUW Director Anna Łukasik.

Among the best hospitals in Poland was also the second institution of the University - Princess Anna Mazowiecka Clinical Hospital in Karowa Street, which took 14th place on the ranking list.

The evaluated facilities are located in: the United States of America, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Brazil, Canada, India, Australia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Thailand, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Israel and Singapore. The hospitals included in the ranking are distinguished by, among other things: a staff of outstanding physicians, top-notch nursing care and the use of state-of-the-art medical technology.
The ranking lists are based on the data from three sources:
- recommendations of medical experts (physicians, hospital directors, health care professionals)
- results of surveys conducted among patients
- KPIs for hospitals.
The number of hospitals distinguished in each country varies according to the number of hospitals and the availability of data in each country, so the results are only comparable between hospitals in the same country. In each country, different sources of patient experience and healthcare  key performance indicators were examined: patient safety, hygiene measures and quality of treatment.
