The Open Day at our University

On April 17, the Open Day was held at our University for the university’s prospective students. The event was held online. We started at 10 a.m. with the official opening and the welcoming of the participants by HM Rector, prof. Zbigniew Gaciong.

Then, a few words for those interested in choosing our University, were given by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education - Prof. Marek Kuch. The Open Day was hosted by the representatives of the MUW Student Self-Government: Hanna Dąbrowska and Jakub Olszewski, who were announcing the individual points of the program.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., through various forms of presentation and information we brought our University closer to those interested. The meeting was prepared in the form of live presentations broadcasted through the You Tube channel.
The program of the Open Day included thematic blocks devoted to the faculties of MUW and the courses they offer. Each of them was preceded by a film with the participation of the Dean presenting his Department and encouraging students to choose the field of study at his Department.

All the faculties had 30 minutes of airtime, during which the representatives of the particular faculties or the representatives of the Faculty Self-Governments talked about their majors, development opportunities, activities in the Scientific Circles, job prospects or everyday student’s life. Much of the time during their online meetings was spent by students answering questions posed to them in the chat room.
An important part of the program was a live chat led by Dr. Longin Niemczyk, Secretary of the University Recruitment Committee, who presented in detail this year's recruitment criteria and answered questions sent by the participants of the Open Day. During the Open Day, the representatives from the Student Affairs Office answered questions related to the recruitment policies.
The last point of the meeting was a live chat with the representatives of students from the English Division and English Dentistry Division, who talked about their studies, advertised Warsaw and encouraged students to choose our University. During the Open Day, visitors to the University could watch films about MUW and listen to webinars prepared by our experts: Prof. Grzegorz Basak and Prof. Zbigniew Fijałek

Especially for this event, the Information and Promotion Office, the organizer of the Open Day, prepared a website to facilitate access to all information about both the Open Day and the entire University in one place: recruitment rules, webinars, promotional films, students' and graduates' opinions about studying at MUW, or frequently asked questions about recruitment and our University in general. Taking into account the epidemic situation, despite the end of the Open Day, the website https://dzienotwarty.wum.edu.pl/ will continue to be available in the coming months as an additional information channel for candidates for studies at the Medical University of Warsaw.

We would like to thank all the students involved in the preparation and participation in the Open Day!
The virtual meeting of the Open Day was realized in cooperation with the employees from the Photo-medical Department and with the support of Łukasz Szlachetka from our IT Center.
