Congratulations on the occasion of completing difficult studies were given by the Rector, prof. Zbigniew Gaciong. In his speech, the Rector noted that "the pandemic has acutely demonstrated the tremendous need for health care professionals," including pharmacists and laboratory diagnosticians. He stressed the importance of the Pharmacy Profession Act, which came into force on April 16 this year. "This is a long-developed document that gives pharmacists new and broader powers. It comprehensively defines issues such as obtaining the right to practice as a pharmacist, the practice of the profession itself, and continuing education." - said the Rector. Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong also reminded us of this year's 95th anniversary of the establishment of the first Faculty of Pharmacy in Poland, which was opened on 6 June 1926 at the University of Warsaw. At the end, the Rector of MUW quoted Leonardo Da Vinci's maxim "A bad student is a student who does not surpass his master" and - addressing this year's graduated students - wished them: "Surpass your masters, be courageous in your dreams, do not settle on your laurels, develop yourself".

A few words to the newly graduated students were also given by the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education Agnieszka Bazylko, MD, PhD. "You have chosen professions that will require you to be continuously educated, that will challenge you, and most importantly, that involve taking responsibility for your actions, and also for the patient. At the same time, these are the professions that give great satisfaction. You are - along with doctors, nurses, paramedics - modes of the same machine. The pandemic has shown how important laboratory diagnosticians and pharmacists are to this machine," said Associate Dean Agnieszka Bazylko, MD, PhD.
