As many as 7 projects prepared by the Students’ Scientific Circles operating at our University will be funded under the "Students' Scientific Circles Create Innovations" program of the Ministry of Education and Science. The total amount of funding, which our Scientific Circles will receive is 386 553 PLN.
In terms of the number of funded projects, our University has the highest number of projects among medical universities, and is at the forefront of all academic universities: just behind the Warsaw University of Technology (10 projects) and the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (9 projects).
Funding will be awarded to:
- Students' Scientific Circle of Reconstructive Surgery MUW at the Department of Head and Neck Cancer of Maria Sklodowska Curie Instytute -Oncology Center; Surgical Department for the project "Personalized titanium implants for reconstruction of the stomatognathic system".
- Students’ Scientific Circle at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery UCC MUW for the project "Evaluation of the immunological markers and epithelial-mesenchymal transition in laryngeal cancer development" and for the project "Immunomodulatory role of the tumor microenvironment on the oncological outcomes in advanced laryngeal cancer";
- Students' Scientific Circle GRAFT at the Department of General, Vascular and Transplant Surgery UCC MUW for the project "Transplantation non-fiction";
- Students’ Scientific Circle FARMAKON at the Department of Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry for the project "Obesity gene in therapy and diet";
- Students’ Scientific Circle at the Department of Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Diabetology CSK MSWiA for the project "Are reactive hypoglycemia and insulin resistance risk factors for atherosclerosis?" and for the project "Type 2 diabetes mellitus as a risk factor for osteoporosis".
The main objective of the "Students’ Scientific Circles Create Innovations" Program is to help scientific circles carry out innovative projects, improve the quality of their activity and improve the technology transfer mechanism and technical solutions created as part of their activity to the economic sphere.
