The visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq at MUW

The Ambassador of Iraq, Mr. Asaad Sultan Hachem Abogulal paid a visit to our University yesterday. The purpose of the visit was to initiate the cooperation between the Medical University of Warsaw and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Iraq, which would involve the establishment of research teams consisting of Polish and Iraqi scientists.

The Iraqi government highly values the achievements of our University, which, as we recall, is the best Polish medical university according to many rankings.   In order to discuss this initiative, Ambassador Abogulal met with the Rector - Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong. The meeting was also attended by the Vice Rector for Internationalization, Promotion and Development - Prof. Paweł Włodarski, Vice Dean for English Division of the Faculty of Medicine - Dr. Jacek Sieńko and the Chancellor - Mr. Wojciech Orzeł.

Our University has 755 students in both English-language faculties, and their graduates are well educated physicians valued by foreign employers. Ambassador Abogulal expressed his hope that more Iraqi candidates will enroll in medical studies in Warsaw in the coming years. Currently our University educates 11 Iraqi citizens.

Ambassador Abogulal thanked for all the care of his country's citizens studying at WUM, especially for the COVID-19 vaccination program implemented by the University.
