Today, performing laboratory tests is not only the domain of laboratory diagnosticians, but also the job of nurses and midwives who do tests at the point of patient care. The "Laboratory Diagnostics in Nursing and Midwifery" compendium is designed to help them with these tasks. The handbook includes the latest recommendations for the proper collection of material for testing, recommendations for quality control of bedside analyzers, basic issues related to laboratory tests for disorders of various systems and organs, knowledge useful in working with newborns or pregnant women, as well as the management at occupational exposure to infectious agents.
Due to many practical aspects related to laboratory diagnostics, the textbook is also dedicated to students of nursing and midwifery, medical analysis, medical emergency and medicine.
