During the ceremony, 29 students of audiophonology, 90 of electroradiology, 69 of general and clinical speech therapy and 150 of physiotherapy were officially inducted into the university community. Those with the best results in each field of study received commemorative pins, congratulatory letters, and gifts from the Dean and Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Education - Professor Marek Kuch.
Dariusz Białoszewski, MD, PhD, MUW professor, congratulated the students and their relatives on their success, emphasizing that the ongoing pandemic made it very difficult to obtain optimal results in matriculation exams. He encouraged them to continue working, but also to take interesting initiatives at the university and to take care of contacts with other students.
On behalf of the Rector, Prof. Marek Kuch, Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Education, took the floor. While expressing his appreciation and congratulating the matriculated students, he emphasized that in the time of growing competition in the field of education, a diploma of a university guaranteeing excellent quality is becoming more and more important. He also emphasized the growing importance and independence of all professions for which students will be preparing themselves.
Dr. Zbigniew Wroński - the Vice President of the National Council of Physiotherapists for Education and Science, Anna Ostaszewska - the supervisor of the first year physiotherapy students, Aleksandra Sałek from the Student Self-Government of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Prof. Bolesław Samoliński - the Chairman of the Health Sciences Discipline Council, also addressed warm words to the newly admitted. Barbara Gradecka - the head of the first year of physiotherapy, spoke on behalf of the matriculated students.
The culminating point of the ceremony was the oath, which was administered by the Dean.
The invitation to deliver the inaugural lecture was accepted by Prof. Olga Jauer-Niworowska, Head of the Department of Logopedics and Voice Emission at the Institute of Applied Polish Studies of the University of Warsaw. Her presentation was titled "The situation of the patient with dysarthria - how to communicate, how to support?"
The ceremony was highlighted by a concert of the MUW Choir conducted by Daniel Synowiec.
The ceremony was also attended by: Joanna Kolmas, MD, PhD – Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Łukasz Koperski, MD, PhD – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ewa Czochrowska, MD, PhD – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Justyna Teliga- Czajkowska, MD, PhD – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, supervisors of individual fields of study, Vice Deans and members of the Council of the Faculty of Medical Sciences.
