The host of the ceremony, Prof. Dorota Olczak-Kowalczyk, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, emphasized that the graduates received their education under the supervision of specialists in various fields of dentistry and medicine, in the modern base of the MUW. Remember that the patient's well-being is a priceless and paramount good," the dean noted.
Professor Paweł Włodarski spoke on behalf of the Rector of MUW. The Vice Rector congratulated the graduates, urged them to cultivate the relationships established during their studies and emphasized the importance of continuous development. - Dear Graduates, remember that when you leave the walls of our University, you become ambassadors of this University and the medical knowledge taught here. It is not right to deny it or question it unjustifiably. Noblesse oblige.
Congratulations to the graduates were also given by Łukasz Jankowski, President of the District Medical Chamber, and a letter from Małgorzata Zadorożna, Director of the Medical Staff Development Department at the Ministry of Health, was read out.
The central point of the event was the oath which was taken from the graduates studying in Polish by Prof. Agnieszka Mielczarek, Vice Dean for Education of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, and from the students studying in English by Ewa Czochrowska, MD, PhD - Vice Dean for English Dentistry Division and International Cooperation of the FDM.
After the oath, the awards were presented to the outstanding graduates. Klaudia Madoń received the Golden Graduate Laurel for the highest average grade, Katarzyna Pindelska was awarded for taking the first place in the national stage of the "Jules Allemand Trophy" competition. Wojciech Poniewierski received the Gold Badge of the Student Scientific Society for lifetime achievements in research, whereas Stanisław Pawlak, Bartłomiej Woryński, and also Wojciech Poniewierski were awarded for exceptional involvement and valuable initiatives. Gifts were also presented by Dominika Domanowska, Chairperson of the Student Self-Government of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, honoring outgoing members of the Student Self-Government: Stanisław Pawlak, Barłomiej Woryński, Wojciech Poniewierski, Małgorzata Żak and Jakub Białkowski.
After awarding the students, the floor was taken by Stanisław Pawlak. - On behalf of all the graduates, I would like to thank you for your work in organizing the studies and our education. We are aware of how much commitment, persistence and sacrifice it took to organize didactics, especially clinical didactics in times of pandemic," he said.
A nice touch was also presenting Professor Agnieszka Mielczarek with the Statuette of Saint Apollonia - a distinction from the Regional Medical Chamber for those who actively support the dental community. The statuette was presented by Łukasz Jankowski, President of the Regional Medical Chamber and Dariusz Paluszek, Vice-President of the RMC.
The ceremony ended with a concert performed by the MUW Choir, directed by Daniel Synowiec, as well as a commemorative photo and symbolic caps throwing.
