Debate on the activity of academic career services

In what direction should academic career offices evolve? How do you effectively promote them to students and alumni? What should collaboration with the socio-economic environment look like? These questions were jointly answered by the participants of Wednesday's meeting: Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk, KRASP President and the representatives of the KRASP’s Committee for Academic Career Services.

During the meeting, the issues discussed included standardization of careers services and promotion of good practices in cooperation with business. They discussed current challenges posed by the labor market to young graduates. The participants of the meeting also focused on the need to increase the availability of career counseling and psychological support for students.

Professor Zbigniew Gaciong, Rector of the MUW, who opened the meeting, expressed his satisfaction with the fact that an event of such great importance for the academic community takes place at our University, emphasizing the importance of activities undertaken by the Committee.

The meeting was attended by newly elected members of the committee for the term 2021-2023 - careers services managers: Dorota Pisula from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań - chairperson of the committee, Małgorzata Sołtysińska-Rąb from the Silesian University of Technology, Monika Siurdyban from the University of Economics and Dr Jakub Sokolnicki from the MUW - vice-chairman of the committee.
The ACS Committee of the KRASP has been operating since 2015 with 16 members - provincial representatives representing all types of universities. The term of office of the committee is two years.
