Young actors used three works by the Russian writer: "White Nights", "Gentle Creature" and "The Dream of a Ridiculous Man." The author of the script and the director of the show is Marcel Łoza, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at MUW, for many years of his studies associated with the Magic Theatre. He also played one of the characters in the play. Also featured on stage are: Anna Krawczyk, Marcin Kuna, Igor Mackiewicz, Jan Rozlau, Julia Szczygielska, Martyna Szymczyk, Emilia Włoszek, and Mateusz Wysocki. The young artists took care of the technical setting and scenography of the event.
This was Magic Theatre's first performance after a nearly two-year hiatus due to the pandemic and the first premiere of an "adult" play. Previously, the group's repertoire included primarily proposals for the youngest audience, such as the performance "The Cheating Flea" and "Sad Princess". The preparations for the premiere of "Night Phantoms" took nearly three years. The composition of the team changed over time, but the goal was achieved with great success. The young medics prove that acting skills and passion for creating theater have no limits, and that good theater can also be created at the medical university.
During the event, a charity collection was held for the Ronald McDonald Foundation, which works for the benefit of small patients of the Central Children's Clinical Hospital UCC MUW and runs the Ronald McDonald House on the Banach Campus of the MUW.
The Magic Theatre operates under the aegis of the MUW Student Self-Government and the IFMSA-Poland Warsaw Branch. The performances are under the patronage of the Rector of the MUW.
