Maciej Niewada, MD, PhD, from the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology MUW, has been appointed a member of the National Council for Neurology, acting under the Minister of Health.
The tasks of the Council include the preparation of strategies and proposals for organizing care for patients with stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and other neurological diseases. The Council will also develop standards for the medical management of neurological diseases and quality criteria related to neurological diagnosis and treatment. It will also provide recommendations for innovative technologies, which are used in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions.
The Council is chaired by Professor Halina Sienkiewicz-Jarosz, Director of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology. Waldemar Kraska, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health, became the Deputy Chairman of the Council.
