MUW at the AMSA Convention in Washington

Future physicians from around the world met with medical leaders, innovators, activists and experts who are moving medicine forward. This year's AMSA Convention and Exposition was attended by Piotr Krysiak, AMSA MUW board member.

- The participation in the event, which lasted from 7 to 9 April, gave me a chance to broaden my horizons, learn from the best specialists from across the Atlantic and strengthen international cooperation - admits Piotr Krysiak.  - We started with Advocacy Day, where we talked about how to get involved in important issues and how to make a difference. At AMSACon, I learned that it is possible to talk openly about any difficult topic in such a wide group. As future doctors, it is our duty to address all issues related to people's lives and their problems.
During the congress they discussed not only the need for good communication, but also important medical and social issues - such as lowering the price of insulin in the U.S. There were also loose topics - such as the range of medical emoji (stomach emoji!).

The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) is the oldest and largest independent association of future physicians, founded in the United States over half a century ago. It boasts a long history of active social activities among medical students. Today it is an international organization, managed by students who are addressing health care issues around the world.
