Scientific sessions, workshops, panel discussion and volleyball match. The 15th edition of Spring with Physiotherapy is over

On April 8 and 9, as part of the XV Spring with Physiotherapy, several hundred people exchanged knowledge and views on the rehabilitation of patients after SARS-CoV-2 infection. During the event, as part of two sessions, 14 master's and doctoral theses were presented, as well as four thematic workshops and a thesis competition were held. The expert lecture was delivered by Jan Szczegielniak, MD, PhD, Professor of Opole University of Technology, National Consultant in Physiotherapy. The conference culminated with a volleyball match for the Faculty of Medical Sciences Dean's Cup MUW.

After the official start of the symposium, two sessions were held. During the first session, six theses were presented on the rehabilitation of patients after SARS-CoV-2 infection. During the second session, which dealt with free topics, eight speakers spoke about, among others, contact and remote physiotherapy, training on a vibration platform or the usefulness of telerehabilitation in the treatment of pediatric patients. Each presentation ended with a discussion with experts and the audience. All the presented theses were evaluated by the Conference Scientific Council which selected the winners of the Main Award of the 15th Spring with Physiotherapy. It was awarded to Oskar Formella, Paulina Ewertowska, Anna Łukaszewicz, Dariusz Czaprowski from the University of Physical Education in Gdańsk for the thesis titled "Training on a vibrating platform - stimulation or deactivation?" Review of the literature" and Maria Kowalska, Martyna Kędra and Sebastian Wójtowicz for "The assessment of the effect of vibration massage of triceps calf muscle on muscle strength parameters and range of motion". The winners of the Audience Award were also announced. The first day of the conference closed with a discussion panel on out-of-hospital comprehensive rehabilitation of patients after SARS-CoV-2 infection. It was attended by the members of the conference scientific board and invited guests. Nearly 100 people signed up for the workshops, which was held on the second day of the Spring. They were led by the experts in the field of physiotherapy. During the workshops, they shared a lot of practical information and demonstrated a number of therapeutic techniques.
The culmination of this year's edition was a volleyball match for the Faculty of Medical Sciences Dean's Cup MUW. This was the first such event in the 15-year history of the Conference. "The movement can replace any medicine, but all medicines combined can never replace the movement" was the motto of the competition. A fierce battle lasted until the very end.
