New operating block of the Chair and Department of Orthopedics and Locomotor Traumatology UCC MUW

It consists of six modern and fully air-conditioned operating rooms. Its equipment will allow to perform all types of traumatological and orthopedic procedures in the most optimal and aseptic conditions. In addition, the cameras installed in the operating rooms will enable online video transmission for teaching and scientific purposes. The operating block also includes a recovery room for patients. On Friday, June 3, the new rooms were officially opened.

The event was hosted by Professor Paweł Małdyk, Head of the Chair Department of Orthopedics and Locomotor Traumatology UCC MUW. The opening was attended by Prof. Wojciech Lisik, Vice Rector for Clinical Affairs and Investments, Prof. Paweł Włodarski, Vice Rector for International Relations, Development and Promotion, Anna Łukasik, Director of UCC MUW, Dr. Paweł Łęgosz, Deputy Director for Treatment at Lindley location as well as the heads of hospital departments.

- The operating block was designed in the most functional way, in accordance with the regulations applicable to the construction of such specialized rooms. The opening of the operating block will undoubtedly have an impact on raising the standards of treatment provided by our Department - says Prof. Małdyk.

The investment was carried out since 2014 thanks to funds obtained from the European Regional Development Fund.
