This modern building won the Residential Architecture 2021 category. It was designed by AFP Architects: Tomasz Flejterski and Alicja Szojda. The McDonald House is located on our campus and offers free overnight accommodations to parents of children being treated at the Children's Clinical Hospital UCC MUW.
It was awarded for its simplicity, moderation and perfect fit in the neighborhood. In justifying its verdict, the jury emphasized that the facility is characterized by excellent functional solutions, and the finishing materials used in it make it easy to keep clean. The interiors are bathed in natural light. The roof is also interesting, partly green and covered with solar panels and skylights.
There are 25 family apartments in the house. In common areas are - kitchen, dining room, laundry room, library and outdoor terrace. Plus a nursery area called WUMIK with an outdoor playground.
