As a result of the evaluation, scientific categories are assigned to individual scientific disciplines. It can be: A+, A, B+, B or C. Among other things, the amount of rating determines whether a university can offer academic profile studies and confer degrees, as well as what the amount of the subsidy will be.
Scientific disciplines represented by MUW received one A category and two B+ categories:
• Medical sciences: A
• Pharmaceutical sciences: B+
• Health sciences: B+
The categories obtained confirm the high level of MUW's scientific activities. Thus, they ensure the ability to continue the mission and development of our university.
The evaluation was conducted on the basis of three criteria:
1. Scientific or artistic level of conducted scientific activity - evaluated on the basis of scientific articles, monographs, editors of monographs and authorship of chapters in monographs, as well as granted patents for inventions.
2. Financial effects of scientific research and development work - evaluated on the basis of the amount of funds obtained for research projects in competitions organized by EU institutions, foreign institutions, NCBR, NCN, ABM. The criterion also takes into account the commercialization of the results of research or development work, as well as research carried out on behalf of entities outside the higher education and science sector.
3. Impact of scientific activity on the functioning of society and the economy - assessed on the basis of descriptions and evidence of the relationship between the research conducted and change in, for example, health care.
- I would like to thank the staff and doctoral students whose scientific achievements represented our university during the evaluation - said Prof. Piotr Pruszczyk, Vice Rector for Science and Technology Transfer MUW. And he stressed that special thanks are due to the authors of the highly rated descriptions of the impact of scientific activity on social and economic life. - I thank the councils of scientific disciplines for their involvement in the evaluation process. I would like to thank the deans for their support of the activities undertaken. Thanks are also due to the university library and administration, including the Department of Science, for the smooth conduct of the evaluation. Ahead of us is the next evaluation, which will take place in 2026. We will devote the years 2022-2025 to improving and enhancing the results achieved - added the Vice Rector.
