Dr. Marcin Podgórski is an active paramedic, associated with the Polish Medical Air Rescue for almost 20 years. Since 2012, he has served as Deputy Director of Emergency Medical Services, Organization and Planning at the Polish Medical Air Rescue (LPR) Headquarters. He is an active instructor of ACLS, PALS, TCCC, PHTLS. He has many years of practical experience in both emergency medical teams, intensive care units and multi-organ trauma treatment center. For more than 7 years, he has been imparting knowledge to students of emergency medicine and nursing at universities, including, since 2018, in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Medical University of Warsaw. He is a member of the Mobile Medical Security Group of the Polish Medical Air Rescue (LPR). He received the award in the category "system doctor, system nurse, paramedic."
The Blessed Gerard statuettes were presented by Waldemar Kraska, Deputy Minister of Health, on October 13 during a gala ceremony held on the occasion of Emergency Medical Services Day in Dąbrowa Górnicza.
In addition to Dr. Podgórski, the award recipients are: Jan Kawulok, director of the Cieszyn Emergency Service ("rescue management" category) and the Polish Army ("persons and institutions supporting the State Emergency Medical Services system" category).
