Medical University of Warsaw, 9 a.m.
Description
The idea of the conference is to have a comprehensive exchange of legal-ethical-medical ideas on a common scientific platform, across any divide of professional and scientific interests. The theme of the event is "Collision of goods and duties in medical law and medical ethics" - i.e. the everyday life of hospitals and clinics.
The conference will seek answers to the most difficult questions:
- how to reconcile conflicting interests and competing powers
- how medical ethics can clash with the law and determine choices, and to what extent these choices are accurate
- when the Code of Medical Ethics supports the legal system and when it conflicts with it, and which norms should take precedence
Participation in the conference is free of charge.
From our university, Prof. Tomasz Pasierski, Prof. Agnieszka Cudnoch-Jędrzejewska, Prof. Jacek Malejczyk, Maria Boratyńska, MD, PhD, (also University of Warsaw, the Bioethics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences) will speak at the conference.
