Summary of the action "WUM community for WOŚP"
PLN 61,107.73 is the amount that the academic community of our university collected for the 32nd Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. We would like to thank everyone involved in the campaign: those who coordinated it, those who decided to donate something from themselves for the auctions, those who bid and those who contributed to the collection in other forms.

The goal of the 32nd Finale of the WOŚP

This year, the Orchestra played to raise funds to purchase equipment for diagnosing, monitoring and rehabilitating patients in pulmonology departments. As Prof. Rafał Krenke, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Pneumonology and Allergology, said in an interview with Pulse of Medicine:
- The changes that the SARS-CoV-2 virus causes in the lungs and other organs are not limited to the acute phase of the disease. They are known to persist in some patients for months or even years after getting over Covid-19.

The professor recalled that the consequence of the first strongest waves of coronavirus infections is a new and large group of patients who require chronic care.

WUM community for WOŚP

MUW auctions donated by employees and students - there were as many as 60 of them! - included, among other things: sports training, paintings, a bowling meeting, dietary consultations, pulmonology courses, surgical workshops,  meeting over dumplings with the Rector, an apple pie baked by Prof. Wojciech Lisik, cooking Thai soup with Prof. Artur Ludwin, or robotics skills training with Prof. Piotr Radziszewski.

In total, the auctions managed to raise as much as PLN 54,602.5! The collection was also supported by a student fundraiser, during which PLN 5036.23 was collected. In addition, thanks to the MUW eCollection box, another PLN 1469 were added to the pot. This gave a total of more than PLN 61 thousand.

The campaign "WUM community for WOŚP" was organized and coordinated by students from: MUW Student Government, IFMSA-Poland Warsaw Branch, Polish Society of Dental Students Warsaw branch with the great support of: Students' Council of the Faculty of Medicine, Students' Council of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Students' Council of the Faculty of Health Sciences MUW and Students' Council of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

Aleksandra Ochnik, coordinator of the "WUM community for WOŚP" campaign, emphasizes:

- We did not expect such commitment. The sum we managed to collect exceeded our wildest expectations. We are proud of our university community.
