The event was organized by MUW’s Careers Office. Why is it worth taking part? To find out how many employment opportunities await graduates of our degree programs – and to make those first professional contacts that help actively shape your career path.
– “We want to show our students how to maximize their potential and their studies in order to find their dream job,” emphasized Dr Jakub Sokolnicki, Head of the Centre for Quality Education and Competence Development at MUW.
First-hand insights into what kind of workers the labor market is looking for
At the heart of the event was the exhibition zone, featuring 33 stands, including those of MUW’s University Clinical Centre and MUW’s Medical Centre. Among the exhibitors were both Polish and international companies operating in medical services, clinical research, pharmacy, and laboratory sectors. They discussed ongoing recruitment processes and available career paths and shared tips on how to prepare and achieve professional success. The fair offered a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insights that are hard to find even on company websites.
There was also a Q&A zone. The first session featured representatives of clinical research companies. When asked who could find employment in this sector, they emphasized its openness to all graduates from the broader field of life sciences – not only doctors and pharmacists, but also nurses, paramedics, and public health graduates. And what do recruiters look for? Among other things, proficiency in English.
– “We work with multinational corporations, so English is the language we use on a daily basis. Even a great candidate with experience in clinical research, but one with poor language skills, may not pass the recruitment stage,” stressed one of the session speakers.
The second Q&A session focused on companies providing medical services. Panelists discussed the qualities they seek in candidates and the opportunities available to graduates in the sector. They emphasized that companies primarily look for passionate individuals who value respect and integrity. Professional experience is not always essential, as training is often provided by companies. At the same time, these organizations offer opportunities for professional development.
– “A graduate leaving university often doesn’t know exactly what they want to do, what inspires them, or what makes them feel fulfilled. And it is the employer’s role to help them recognize these things and make informed choices so that they can thrive,” said Alicja Zielińska, one of the panelists.
The final panel session attracted a great deal of interest and included four short lectures on:
- how to build a professional online image
- how to create an effective CV
- how to consciously build a career based on your own values and priorities
- what it’s like to work with Médecins Sans Frontières and why it’s a career path worth considering

A new addition to this year’s agenda of the Festival of Possibilities was the CV Up Zone, where students could improve their CVs to match the requirements of specific job offers or meet employer expectations. Students were offered consultations by company representatives. Who knows – perhaps one of those sessions will lead to a successful recruitment?
Also returning this year was the ever-popular Photo Zone, which has been a favorite feature in previous editions. Students could have professional CV photos and business social media photos taken — with the bonus of makeup services. Dozens of attendees took advantage of the treat.
The fair proved extremely popular with students. From start to finish, hundreds of young participants visited the stands throughout the Didactic Centre. Among the attendees was Professor Marek Kuch, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education, who highlighted the mutual benefits of organizing the fair: companies gain access to potential employees, and students gain inspiration and support in developing their careers.
The next edition of the Festival of Possibilities is scheduled for spring 2026.
