Prof. Dorota Olczak-Kowalczyk as national consultant

Professor Olczak-Kowalczyk, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry MUW, has been appointed by the Minister of Health to serve as a national consultant in pediatric dentistry. The term will last five years.

This is another appointment of Prof. Olczak-Kowalczyk to serve as national consultant in pediatric dentistry. Prof. Olczak-Kowalczyk graduated from our university. She is the author of many scientific papers and numerous publications in Polish and foreign journals, as well as monographs in the field of pediatric dentistry, and promoter of doctoral theses. She has given lectures at national and international conferences and trainings, as well as at specialization and continuing education courses. She also serves as head of specialty training in pediatric dentistry and chairwoman of the PES examination committee. The professor is also co-founder and president of the Polish Society of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition, she also served as chairwoman of the Council for the Development of Dentistry under the Minister of Health.

The tasks of national consultants

The tasks of national consultants focus on initiating national epidemiological studies and evaluating the methods and results of these studies. National consultants forecast health needs in their field. Their tasks also include advising on how to implement tasks that arise from the National Health Program and other health programs. National consultants give opinions on applications to refer patients for treatment or diagnostic tests outside Poland, and give opinions and advice on tasks carried out by the Center for Medical Examinations and the Center for Medical Postgraduate Education.
