Prof. Marek Krawczyk is a specialist in general and oncologic surgery and clinical transplantology, long-time head of the Department of General, Transplant and Liver Surgery at the Medical University of Warsaw, recipient of many national and international awards and honors, including. : medal Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice awarded by Pope Francis (2019), French Order of Academic Palms (2014), Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2016), honorary doctorate of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce (2020), honorary doctorate of Jagiellonian University in Kraków (2021). In addition, the Professor is an honorary member of the Society of American Surgeons (2019) and many other Polish and foreign scientific societies.
About the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences
The Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences is an institution established to nurture science and culture. It organizes and supports scientific research, integrates scientific communities and transmits this research as well as promotes attitudes related to it. The PAU consists of 6 Faculties: Linguistics, History and Philosophy, Science and Technology, Natural Science, Medicine, and Creative Arts. The PAU Faculties are an important influential forum for science.
Members of the V Faculty of Medicine of the PAU include physicians representing numerous specialties of clinical medicine and basic medical sciences, as well as biologists whose research topics are closely related to medical science.
