He assumed this function on Tuesday, February 13 this year. Among the group's tasks are the medical transport of patients from outside Poland, and participation in domestic and foreign rescue or rescue-evacuation operations against those in or likely to be in danger.
Prof. Gałązkowski told Polish Press Agency (PAP) that the mobile group has more than 20 people, including the best-trained doctors. It is equipped with, among other things, a field hospital and vehicles to transport it, and can be sent anywhere in the country and the world.
Prof. Robert Gałązkowski, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences MUW and also Head of the Department of Emergency Medical Sciences MUW, had held the position of Director of the Polish Medical Air Rescue since 2008. On February 12 this year, the Health Ministry announced that Health Minister Izabela Leszczyna had accepted Prof. Gałązkowski's resignation from that post.
