Students of the Faculty of Medicine are winners of the “Golden Prescription”

It was the first edition of the National Pharmacological Knowledge Competition “Recipe Auream” (Golden Prescription). Our university was represented by a team of six students of the Faculty of Medicine. And it turned out to be a “golden” team. We took first place in the team classification, first and second in the individual one.

Our university was represented by third-year students of the Faculty of Medicine: Wiktor Borejko, Jakub Borkowski, Mateusz Gadzała, Jakub Kwiatkowski, Kacper Pająk and Barbara Sobera. The students were supported by Dr. Aleksandra Paź, coordinator of pharmacology and toxicology teaching for third-year students of the Faculty, while Dr. Agata Karpińska and M.Sc. Magdalena Niedzielko from the Department and Section of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology were responsible for selecting members of the team from among students who expressed their willingness to participate in the competition and for supervising the students before the competition.

Mateusz Gadzała took first place, and Barbara Sobera took second place in the individual classification. Our team won in the team category, just ahead of the teams from Lublin and Zabrze!

The “Recipe Auream” competition took place on May 24-25, 2024 at the Medical University of Lublin. It was attended by representatives of medical faculties of medical universities from Lublin, Gdańsk, Łódź, Zabrze, Katowice, Wrocław and Warsaw. The first stage included test questions assessed individually, the next stage included open questions and tasks relating to clinical knowledge, solved by teams.

It is worth emphasizing that the competition was announced in March by the Medical University of Lublin but our team was selected two weeks ago, so there wasn’t much time to prepare. This gives us even greater recognition for our students and all academic teachers conducting classes.
The next edition of the competition will take place in 2025. It will be hosted by the Department and Section of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology of the Medical University of Warsaw.
