Usg in life-threatening emergencies - course taught by Catania scientists

Sixth-year medical students took part in a point-of-care ultrasound course. Due to the EU Visiting Professor project, Prof. Filippo Sanfilippo and Dr. Luigi La Via from the University of Catania were among the lecturers. The training took place June 1-4 in cooperation with the Second Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at the Medical Simulation Center MUW.

Each of the 40 participants had the opportunity to thoroughly practice ultrasound skills. The course covered topics on ultrasound in emergencies - especially imaging of the lungs, heart, abdomen and vessels. The lecturers succeeded in demonstrating the great value of POCUS examination.
The organization of the course was supported by students from ANKONA, the Anesthesiology Society at the 2nd Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care MUW.
