Workshop for high school students at the Faculty of Pharmacy

On September 19 and 21 of this year, the Faculty of Pharmacy hosted Warsaw high school students. The young people were able to listen to interesting lectures and take part in practical classes conducted by WUM didacticians. This was a sample of what studying pharmacy and medical analytics at our university looks like in practice.

The two-day workshop was held as part of the annual initiative "Touch Science - Meetings with the Faculty of Pharmacy MUW" under the motto "Discover our Faculty." The young people who participated in the event were fourth-grade students with biological and chemical profile as well as medical profile. The formula of the workshop allowed them to perform tasks and experiments on their own under the supervision of academic staff of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The classes were also an opportunity to verify perceptions about studying medical analytics and pharmacy, and to gather information about the prospects of the profession of pharmacist and laboratory diagnostician. Thanks to the meeting with scientists of the Faculty of Pharmacy, young people could see how science and didactics become a passion.

The workshop was held under the auspices of Piotr Luliński, MD, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy MUW, and was coordinated by Dr. Monika Franczak-Rogowska of the Department of Drug Chemistry, Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis MUW.
