We already know the scientific leaders of MUW

We have a list of 100 scientific leaders - compiled for activities in 2020-2023 and the results of the ranking of departments, which included activities in 2023.

Ranking of scientific leaders

The ranking of scientific leaders includes employees employed at MUW and counted as number N as of December 31, 2023. The position in the list is determined by the number of points in papers published in 2020-2023 per slot (a slot is a measure of the author's share in the publication). In addition, the list provides the sum of the share points of all papers published in 2020-2023, including papers remaining outside the counted slots, so-called overslots; the total IF of all papers published between 2020 and 2023, including papers remaining outside the counted slots; shares in project scoring; and shares in patent scoring.

The basis for including the work in the summary was the affiliation at MUW.

It is worth noting that the list of 100 scientific leaders for 2020-2023 actually includes about 250 scientists, since several people could be in the same position with the same number of points.

Ranking of departments

Two rankings of departments were also developed: the ranking of departments with up to 3 FTE employees and the ranking of departments with more than 3 FTE employees.

The position on the list is determined by the number of points in works published in 2023 per full-time employee of the department, counted as N as of December 31, 2023. The basis for including the work in the department summary is the affiliation of the work at MUW. The papers are scored according to the current list of MEiN, but in the case of papers published in journals with scores not exceeding 40, a coefficient of 0.5 is applied which reduces their significance.

Here are the first three places on the list of departments

Departments with a staffing level of no more than 3 FTEs
1. Department of Geriatric Nursing - score: 1114,95
2. Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation - score: 579,03
3. Department of Palliative Medicine - score: 420,88
Departments with more than 3 FTEs
1. Department of Education and Research in Health Sciences – score: 575,64
2. Department of Paediatrics with Clinical Assessment Unit - score: 464,36
3. Department of Medical Genetics - score: 430,18
