The purpose of the competition is to arouse initiative and expand knowledge as well as to build broad public awareness of the role of universities in shaping the conditions for sustainable social and economic development of the country. Participants in the competition could be graduates of all first- and second-degree studies of our university, who obtained a bachelor's or master's degree and defended their thesis in the academic year preceding the announcement of the competition.
Winners of the competition
The winner was Maciej Stępień. He was recognized for his thesis "Selected social campaigns in the prevention of testicular cancer" (thesis supervisor: Magdalena Woynarowska, MD, PhD, Department of Public Health). The winner received a cash prize and a statuette from HM Rector Vindex Societatis Responsabilitatis Universitatis.
Honorable mentions were given to:
- Katarzyna Camlet for her thesis "Burden of cardiovascular disease of sub-Saharan African populations on the basis of stroke - analysis of data based on the DALY index" (thesis supervisor: Aneta Tomaszewska, PhD in Health Sciences, Department of Prevention of Environmental Hazards, Allergology and Immunology);
- Joanna Kowalska for the thesis "Social campaign 'Choose wisely, vaccinate yourself' in the assessment of the professional group of teachers in the capital city of Warsaw" (thesis supervisor: Dominik Olejniczak, MD, PhD, Department of Public Health).
The analysis of the submitted papers was carried out by the competition jury, composed by the Rector under the chairmanship of the Rector's Plenipotentiary for Social Responsibility of the university.
