Lecture on health care in Thailand

It was held on May 13 at the Library and Information Center MUW. The speaker was Dr. Vorravee Pattarongvisut, an expert with more than 20 years of teaching experience, a specialist in international business and international marketing issues. He delivered the lecture to the students of the SGH-WUM MBA in Health Care program.

Thailand the medical hub of Asia

Dr. Pattarongvisut came to our university at the invitation of the managers of the SGH-WUM MBA program in health care: Monika Raulinajtys-Grzybek and Artur Białoszewski. During his lecture entitled: "Medical Hub in Asia - what chances arise? What do we need to know about Asian Health Market" he analyzed the concept of a Medical Hub which in this region of the world is Thailand. He discussed the issues based on case studies of Thailand's best-known hospitals and also his own experience from the quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic. He also presented opportunities and chances for cooperation between Polish entrepreneurs and doctors and Thai hospitals.

He presented strategies and recommendations for hospital business management in the country, noting the peculiarities of the market and the requirements needed to be met by foreign investors and health care professionals. Finally, Dr. Pattarongvisu invited the students to participate in a workshop where they could share their thoughts and ideas, which is invaluable for gaining practical experience and developing skills necessary for future work in the medical industry.

About the speaker

Dr. Vorravee Pattarongvisut is a graduate of universities in Thailand, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands (specializing in Human Resources, Organization Management, International Management and International Marketing Management). He combines his academic activities with business as CEO of Swiss Cosmetics Company. He has lived alternately in Thailand and Europe for 15 years. He combines Asian and European perspectives, presenting the nuances of management in different cultures. His passion is travel, and he has visited more than 500 cities in 63 countries. In his spare time, he maintains the blog "Man on the Move" on TripAdvisor.
