The jury of the Golden OTIS Trust Award 2024 recognized 30 people. The honorees included: Prof. Leszek Królicki of the Department of Nuclear Medicine UCC MUW, Dr. Magdalena Skarżyńska of the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Pharmaceutical Care MUW, and Prof. Sebastian Granica, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Biology MUW. Among the awardees is also Dr. Tomasz Grzywa, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine MUW and the Doctoral School MUW.
The Golden OTIS statuettes are awards for outstanding physicians, pharmacists, journalists and patient organizations as well as pharmaceutical companies to recognize their contributions to the Polish health care system. The award gala for the 21st edition was held on April 17.
MUW Laureates
- Prof. Leszek Królicki of the Department of Nuclear Medicine, former longtime head of the department, as well as national consultant in nuclear medicine, received the award in the category of Life Achievement in Medicine.
- In the Special Awards category, the following were recognized:
Dr. Magdalena Skarżyńska of the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Pharmaceutical Care for creating a pharmaceutical care program for pregnant women
Prof. Sebastian Granica, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Biology, scientific coordinator of the Microbiota Lab, for studying the effects of natural compounds on microbiota - In the Scientific Debuts category, Dr. Tomasz Grzywa, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine and the Doctoral School MUW, was recognized, among others. Dr. Tomasz Grzywa also received the Golden OTIS Trust Award scholarship for his scientific debut in medicine. This award is given for an original, defined scientific achievement or a novel implementation solution in the field of medicine, documented by publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
The Golden OTIS Trust Award 2024 plebiscite has been organized since 2004 by the Golden Otis Trust Award Institute with the cooperation of "Świat Lekarza" magazine and the following portals: pacjenci.pl, nazdrowie.pl, zlotyotis.pl, swiatlekarza.pl and medycynawpolsce.pl, as well as health care professional organizations in Poland.
