In accordance with the decision of his Magnificence Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw, Prof. Mirosław Wielgoś and the recommendations of the University Emergency Response Team on  coronavirus threat regarding vaccination against influenza, I would like to inform you that the University has purchased the first batch of 2,000 vaccines for students, doctoral students and employees who have not vaccinated this season.

According to WHO, some 800 million people around the world have some type of visual impairment because they don’t have access to corrective eyeglasses‼
This problem also affects Papua New Guinea where 10,000 pairs of prescription eyeglasses are needed for the people living on the Esa'Ala District islands in the Solomon Sea.
To meet their needs, Medical University of Warsaw is organizing a collection of used eyeglasses called "Eyeglasses for Papua New Guinea‼"

The Polish Pulse Medicine Magazine has been publishing for the last seventeen years an annual list of the 100 most influential people in Polish medicine. Prof. Mirosław Wielgoś, Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw, once again appears in the top ten of the 100 List 2019.

Dear University Community,
In light of the information from Italy about subsequent outbreaks of the coronavirus in the regions of Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont, Emilia Roman and Lazio, I urge all of you who have visited Italy, and especially these parts in the north of the country, in the last several days or earlier, to take necessary precautions.

On February 12, 2020, Prof. Krzysztof J. Filipiak signed on behalf of the Rector a letter of intent to facilitate cooperation in the field of medicine between Medical University of Warsaw and the Republic of Iraq. The ceremonial signing took place at the Iraqi Ministry of Health.
