The parcels were prepared by students, units and individuals, in smaller and larger groups. Packing the parcels, that were made together with students, took place on Friday. The Rector and Vice Rectors also provided assistance. The packaged gifts have already made their way to the warehouses of the Noble Parcel (Szlachetnej Paczki) and will be presented to needy families this week.
There was "All I Want for Christmas" and "Noel," "Oj maluśki, maluśki" and "Jedyna taka noc." The students played and sang a beautiful mix of Polish carols, pastorals and Christmas songs at the Art Club at Oczki Street, which is our historic Medics Club.
- This year's Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine is a triumph of titanic work, not giving in to adversity, self-confidence and unprecedented perseverance of two ordinary, but nonetheless extraordinary, scientists, said Prof. Dominika Nowis, Head of the Laboratory of Experimental Medicine MUW during the XXXIII Nobel Session. These ordinary-extraordinary scientists are Dr. Katalin Karikó, a Hungarian biochemist, and Dr. Drew Weissman, an American molecular biologist.
The Foundation for the Development of the Medical University of Warsaw, with financial support from the Rotary Club Warsaw City and the Rotary Club Milano Nord, runs the STOP CANCER Program, which aims to improve the quality of histopathological diagnosis of cancer.
Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, the Rector, and representatives of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences authorities visited Tarchomińskie Zakłady Farmaceutyczne “Polfa” pharma factory. They met with the Management Board of the Company to discuss the options for strengthening their collaboration in the field of student education, pursuing Industrial PhD Program projects and organization of postgraduate studies.
- Five years ago we crossed the thresholds of our Alma Mater with the hope and dream of graduating and becoming diagnosticians. Today, receiving our diplomas, this dream has become a reality - said Natalia Stępień on behalf of medical analytics graduates during the graduation ceremony. Thirty-five students graduated in this field of study in the 2022/2023 academic year.
Winners have been elected in the second edition of the “Talents of Tomorrow” grant program. Our students and PhD students are among the 23 winning young and talented researchers. Their projects can greatly contribute to the development of science and technology. Who are they and why were they rewarded?
The Medical University of Warsaw and the Information Processing Center - National Research Institute declared their willingness to cooperate and as a consequence they signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The collaboration will involve conducting research and communicating results, use of AI in medicine, promoting knowledge, good practice and experience in the field of the digital transformation and new technologies.
Professor Lisik, Vice-Rector of WUM Medical University of Warsaw for Clinical and Investment Affairs, is a specialist in general surgery, surgical oncology and clinical transplantology at the General Surgery and Transplantation Surgery Clinical Department of WUM Clinical Center (UCK WUM). He was appointed the national consultant in clinical transplantology by the Minister of Health.
It was a unique opportunity to see a trial before a health court. The mock trial took place at the Teaching Center and was extremely popular among high school students, university students, physicians, lawyers, and representatives of the Polish Chamber of Physicians and Dentists.
