The Day Rehabilitation Department opened on October 26 at the Children's Clinical Hospital UCC MUW, it will serve children and young patients discharged from the clinical departments of the CCH who need to continue rehabilitation or have been referred for it.

A team from the Department of General, Transplantation and Liver Surgery UCC MUW led by Prof. Michał Grąt has been awarded the Portrait of Polish Medicine in the Event of the Year category awarded by the Rynek Zdrowia portal.

This year, for the first time, the MUW participatory budgeting was established. Students, PhD students and employees will be able to submit their projects.

The Medical University of Warsaw triumphed in the competition announced by the Medical Research Agency, winning first place with almost maximum marks from reviewers. The MUW project outdistanced 15 other submissions, confirming its exceptional value and innovation.

860 students have been enrolled in the field of medicine, 1,170 students have been enrolled in nursing, midwifery, emergency medicine, dietetics and public health, and 531 in the fields of medicine and dentistry, dental hygiene, dental technology, audiophonology with hearing care, electroradiology, and general and clinical speech therapy. Additional - faculty - matriculation ceremonies, during which students took their solemn oaths, are behind us.

The current issue is dominated by topics related to the inauguration of the 2023/2024 academic year. We have a presentation of the university and faculty authorities. We learn about the composition of the senate and the scientific disciplines councils. We can also read an interview with Irena Eris, PharmD, who this year gave an inaugural lecture entitled “My Way.”

It was the largest knowledge and research discovery promoting event in Mazowieckie region. Our researchers could not miss it. The lectures, workshops and classes they prepared were extremely popular among the people of Warsaw.

This year, the Nobel Prize was awarded to Katalin Kariko and Drew Weissman “for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.” This is a breakthrough – our experts said at a Nobel Week meeting.

As of Monday, newly enrolled students began their studies at the faculties of their choice. But before they attended their first lecture or seminar, they took part in getting-to-know-you days organized by faculty-specific student self-governments. An Orientation Week was also held for foreigners starting their studies at the English Division and the English Dentistry Division. The entire process was supervised by the Students’ Government at WUM Medical University of Warsaw.
